Asking for help sucks. But it can only, well, HELP... right?
When we first put this donation button on the blog, we had no idea how much help we would receive from friends, family, even strangers! And while treatment is over and health is being restored, bills are still part of our lives. I love my job, but my salary can only be described as embarrassing. And Ryan bounces back and forth between making decent money and none at all. Times are tough.
I was lucky through this ordeal to HAVE health insurance. But health insurance with an out of pocket deductible that has ended up coming out on the high end of just over half a year's (pre-tax) salary means there are still loads of bills left unpaid. Between my paltry paychecks and the amazing donations we already received we made a dent in those deductible payments that equal just about half of the $12,500 we owed as of January.
So anyhow. The button stays. And there is some discussion of trying to put together a benefit as well. We know a lot of musicians and artists. If you think this is a good idea, or even want to help with it, leave a comment. In the meantime...
